Cuticles.

I hate cuticles.  They are hard to maintain and keep healthy until recently I found many tricks to help maintain them and now they are better than ever.  Now it's your turn to have perfect, healthy cuticles.

Tip and trick #1- To keep your cuticles from drying and cracking, rub some lip balm into them and all over your nails every time you apply it to lips.

Tip and trick #2- To protect cuticles as you push them back, wrap the tip of your cuticle pusher in a water moistened cotton ball or square because the pusher alone can tear your cuticles.

Tip and trick #3- When doing your nails leave a small space between the cuticle and polish you are applying.

Tip and trick #4- Never cut your cuticles because then they won't be able to perform there job which is protecting the roots of your nails.

Tip and trick #5- Always moisturize your cuticles even if you are always moisturizing your hands you still want to moisturize cuticles even more. Even washing your hands and not putting moisturizer on your cuticles right after is damaging to them because they are getting hydrated while they are in the water but when it's time to dry your hands the hydration and moisture your just gave them are getting striped off leaving them dry.

That's all the tips for now and remember to keep your cuticles healthy because when your cuticles are healthy you have strong, shiny nails and that is always important.

Salon worthy pedicure!

Every girl wants to have the perfect toes and feet, right? I know I do but I don't want to spend the money going to the salon all the time so why not just do it at home for free!?  Here is what I found that is the perfect way to get a salon perfect pedicure at home.

  1. Clip your nails: Clip your nails one side to the other and to where they extend just over the edge of the nail bed.
  2. File and smooth: File your nails in the same direction so you don't rip your nails then rub cuticle oil to all of your cuticles.
  3. Soak and scrub: To me this is the best and most important part.  You want to soak your feet in warm soapy water to soften the skin on your feet and then take a foot file and scrub down all the dry skin and rough spots on the bottom of your feet.
  4. Add a pop of color!: The funnest part of the whole thing.  Add a base coat to all of your nails and apply to even coats of any nail polish your heart desires and then to top it all off apply a top coat to seal it all in!
With these four easy steps you will get a salon worthy pedicure in the comfort of your own home and it is perfect to do with all of your friends if your having a girls night or it's perfect to do all by yourself! i hope you enjoy your new perfect feet.

Braided Nails?- Tutorial!

Yes! There is such thing as braided nails!  Braids will always be in when it comes to your hair but now, braids are in for your nails too! It sounds impossible but it is.  I fell in love when I first saw it and I hope all of you Beauties will too.  It is so simple to do and you can do it on both hands easily and it will work on all of your nails or just as an accent. This is also perfect for back to school which is just around the corner.

Things you will need:
3 different color nail polishes (metallics, neons, and darker matte colors work best), a base coat, a top coat, nail polish remover and cotton swabs (in case you get color on the skin),

Step 1:
Paint a base coat on all of your nails so you won't stain them and also it will help keep your design on longer.

Step 2:
Paint your nails 2 thin coats of a nice metallic polish ( I used the color "Celeb City" by Sally Hansen)

Step 3:
Take your dark matte nail color ( I used the color "Thinking Of Blue" by Sally Hansen) and paint a thick diagonal stripe while rotating your finger and then do the same with your neon color ( I used "Coral Reef" by Sally Hansen) but the opposite direction as before making sure that the two colors  cross each other.

Step 4:
Now with the metallic color from before paint a diagonal stripe while rotating your finger directly below the dark matte color polish.

Step 5:
Paint another diagonal stripe of the dark matte color directly under the neon color and then paint a diagonal stripe of the neon color directly under the metallic and then a little metallic stripe below the dark matte color creating the illusion of braided nails.

Step 6:
Add a top coat to make sure the design lasts and to give it a wonderful shine:)

That was the tutorial for the braided nails and I hope you try it out and let me know what you think.

It's all about the accent

For a while now accent nails have been in.  I love this look and I love how it adds character to your nails and it is an easier way let your personality shine through.  There are many ways to add an accent nail whether its just on your ring finger, your ring finger and thumb, or any nail you want.  Me, I personally only do my ring finger on both my hands but I do know a lot of people who do their thumb and ring finger and it looks amazing.

In case you don't know, an accent nail is a nail that is different than any of your other nails and it makes a statement.  There are many different ways to do accent like doing a french tip and on one finger painting the whole nail instead of just the tip or you can add glitter to a nail, paint it a completely different color, or even a different pattern.  There are endless possibilities in creating an accent nail and they look adorable on any manicure or even pedicure so try it out if you haven't already.

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear nail polishes

One of the most popular nail polish brands out there is the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear nail polishes.  These nail polishes are one of my all time favorites and I love every color that they come out with.  They have many different colors and they make sure to have some for every season if you are the type of person who paints their nails according to the season. Another good thing about these nail polishes is that they do last up to 10 days with out chipping but you will have to wear a base and top coat.

Some of my personal favorite colors are:
Coral Reef

Red Carpet

Mint Sorbet

Blizzard Blue

Bubblegum Pink

I wear those colors year round and I always get complements when I wear them.  I love the way those colors make my skin look and I hope you all go out and try them to.  You can get them at any Drug Store and they are super affordable (They are cheaper than OPI)

Enjoy:)
